" Wilderness Cruising with fine dining around the bend" - Canadian Geographic
" A journey of a lifetime" - National Geographic
" Egan Houseboats has the best outdoor vacation in Ontario, top 5 in Canada." - CTV Canada AM/2010

It's morning in the Kawarthas. You inhale the fresh scent of pine trees as you stretch and get ready to greet the day. Everybody else on the boat is still asleep as you slip into the water for an early-morning dip. The water is warm but refreshing, and your arms send cascades of ripples as you make your way across the mirror-like surface of the bay. Sound idyllic? It is. In fact, vacationers from around the world are discovering there's only one way to experience Ontario's naturally-spectacular Trent-Severn Waterway: by houseboat!

For a family vacation Egan Houseboat Rentals are ideal. They combine the advantages of cottage living with the adventure of travel. Explore a different town or village each day without worrying about reservations. Prepare your own meals or enjoy dining out at many of the fine restaurants on your way. Stop for shopping, lakeside golf, spatime, swimming or fishing any time you please.Soak up the sun and enjoy the scenery or spend time meeting new friends at the locks or find a secluded wilderness bay for private relaxation.

The Egan family has been serving vacationers on the Trent for 40 years. We have the largest rental houseboat fleet in Ontario. Our smaller style houseboats are designed for the Trent. You will appreciate their easy handling, maneuverable, stress free operation in the towns and locks. The Egan family operates from their own marina in the heart of the Kawarthas - the most popular region of the Trent Severn. Remember, it’s your choice – cruise to the west to Lake Simcoe or to the east to Peterborough, or drop anchor and stay in a favourite spot. That’s what separates houseboating from any other type of vacation – the freedom to choose your pace, to go where you want, when you want, and just relax, knowing you have all the comforts right with you. Our houseboats will accommodate from one to three couples or one to two small families depending on the size of boat chosen (40' or 32').
